This listing of shows doesn’t include everything on network TV, but it does highlight those most popular with teenagers. (All times noted are ET/PT.)

Andy Milonakis Show—Home video pranks, sophomoric jokes, and cheesy special effects make up the twisted, infantile world of "tweener" Andy Milonakis. Completely low budget, low brow, and unfunny—I’m obviously not in on the joke because this is MTV’s highest rated show. I guess kids love watching a guy in his late ’20s pretending to be a 12-year-old doing stupid stuff. (MTV, check local listings)

Desperate Housewives—Wisteria Lane welcomes Betty Applewhite (Alfre Woodard) and her son. George Lopez—This edgy family comedy centers on factory worker George Lopez’s struggles to keep his wife and kids together in the midst of Los Angeles gangs, glitz, and giant earthquakes. (ABC, Wednesdays at 8:00 p.m.)

King of the Hill—Good ol’ boy propane salesman Hank Hill works at being a good family man and a great Texan for his perfectionist wife, Peggy, and goofy son, Bobby. (FOX, Sundays at 7 p.m.)

Laguna Beach—This "reality drama" follows the love, anger, stress, and emotionally charged dynamics of a “real” group of teenage friends. I seriously question the reality of this show, given that cameras just happen to be in the right place at the right time to catch all the drama. Then again, maybe these people, with their third-grade vocabularies, truly are rich brats. (MTV, Mondays at 10:00 p.m.)

Lost —A plane crashes on a remote tropical island leaving 47 survivors to fight for their lives. Reluctant leader Jack (Matthew Fox), a doctor, and the lovely rebel Kate (Evangeline Lilly) try to keep order and instill hope within a hopeless situation. O.C., The—Sandy (Peter Gallagher) and Kirsten (Kelly Rowan) try to patch up their marriage as the beautiful kids of Orange County sort out their big problems with as much drama as possible. After exploring pornography, attempted murder, and lesbianism last season, this series can't drag our young people much lower. (FOX, Thursdays at 8 p.m.)

SpongeBob SquarePants —SpongeBob SquarePants is a sponge who never experiences a dull day in his underwater neighborhood.
